Hometown: Onondaga Nation, New York

 

Booth scored five of Onondaga's ten first period goals in their National Championship Quarterfinal matchup this weekend against Mercer County Community College.  Percy finished the contest with 10 goals and 4 assists as OCC advanced to the national semifinals with a dominant 32-3 win.

Hometown: Farmington, New York

 

Cooper helped the Lakers advance in the Regional tournament this weekend both on the mound and at the plate.  In the series opener against SUNY Adirondack Cooper struck out 18 batters in eight innings keeping FLCC in the game as the offense was held to two runs.  After losing game 1, Cooper provided the game winning hit in game 2 with an RBI triple in the bottom of the tenth.  He batted .364 in the three game series with a double, triple, and 4 RBI.

Elijah Washington

College:  Hudson Valley Community College

Hometown: Ballston Spa, New York

 

Washington claimed the 2019 NJCAA Men's Outdoor Track and Field National Championship in the Hammer Throw event after hitting a school record mark of 49.38 meters on the final throw of competition during day one of the NJCAA Track and Field Championships this week.

 

 

 

Female Athletes of the Week

Mikayla Garbino

Sport:  Softball

College:  SUNY Broome Community College

Hometown:  Endwell, New York

 

Garbino had a perfect week at the plate going 7 for 7 in the final regular season double header for the Hornets.   She scored two runs and had two RBI as Broome earned a split at Monroe helping to secure the sixth seed in the Region III tournament.

Katelyn Lawrence

Sport:  Lacrosse

College:  Onondaga Community College

Hometown:  Homer, New York

Katelyn helped lead Onondaga to the Region III Championship with her play in goal for the Lazers.  In 120 minutes of post season action she allowed 9 goals gathering 13 saves.  Lawrence was named Most Valuable Player of the Tournament for her efforts.

Mercedes Planavsky

Sport:  Track & Field

College:  Hudson Valley Community College

Hometown:  Ballston Spa, New York

Mercedes claimed the 2019 NJCAA Women's Outdoor Track and Field National Championship in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (12:22) event this weekeend at the NJCAA Track and Field Championships in Utica, NY. She was also named an All-American for her second place finish in the 10,000 meter race and the 1,500 meter run.
