Nathan Bruce Sport: Lacrosse College: Hudson Valley Community College Hometown: Scotia, New York
Bruce guided the Vikings to two Regional wins last week as the Vikings defeated Tompkins Cortland CC and Monroe CC. Bruce paced the Vikings in the second half of the Monroe game as he scored four of his five goals in the second half leading HVCC to a 16-14 win, the first over the Tribunes since 2009. The Vikings 17-4 win over Tompkins Cortland was their first since 2013. In the two games Bruce tallied 10 points on 8 goals and 2 assists.

Phil Ferranti Sport: Baseball College: Monroe Community College Hometown: Webster, New York
Phil had a huge week at the plate as MCC went 3-1 in a pair of double headers. The sophomore batted .643 (9-14), slugged 1.571 as eight of his hits went for extra bases. He had five doubles, a triple, and two homers while driving in nine runs.

Elijah Washington Sport: Track & Field College: Hudson Valley Community College Hometown: Ballston Spa, New York
Washington led the field with two-first place finishes in the javelin and shot put events this week. He needed to throw a new personal best of 43.52m in the javelin, a NJCAA national qualifying mark, to earn that victory. In the shot put a distance of 12.47 earned him the win while a 30.79m throw in the discus resulted in a 7th place finish.

Vani Patel Sport: Softball College: Herkimer College Hometown: Los Angeles, California Patel led the Generals offense this week with a .600 batting average with 9 hits in 15 at bats. Six of her nine hits went for extra bases as she hit a trio of doubles and three home runs resulting in a 1.400 slugging percentage. She scored seven runs and knocked in twelve.

Mercedes Planavsky Sport: Track & Field College: Hudson Valley Community College Hometown: Ballston Spa, New York Mercedes won the 5K race at the Mount Saint Mary's College Invitational this week with a final time of 20:23.14. She placed 5th in the 1500 meters race with a time of 5:35.88 and anchored the women's 4x400 relay team, which finished fourth with a time of 4:49.98. |
