Justin Carl Sport: Bowling College: Schenectay County Community College Hometown: Carl led the Royals to the Region III Championship this weekend as the All Events Champion besting teammate Zack Porter by 130 pins. Justin’s 931 also bested his teammate, this time by a single pin, to win the Singles Championship. He earned a third championship winning the Doubles Event with teammate Nick Peckowitz.

Jason Cook Sport: Swimming & Diving College: Monroe Community College Hometown: West Henrietta, NY Cook won three individual events and combined with teammates to win four relay events this weekend at the Region III/Norteast District Championships this weekend earning MVP honors. Cook won three freestyle events at the meet: 50 Yard Freestyle (23.02), 100 Yard Frestyle (50.67), and the 200 Yard Freestyle (1:51.95).

Nate Skonieczny Sport: Wrestling College: Jamestown Community College Hometown: Stow, OHNate won the 149 lb weight class at the North East District Championships this weekend advancing to the NJCAA National Championships. Skonieczny advanced to the finals with a fall in 1:17 in the semifinals; he then earned the championship with a 16-6 in the finals. Nate was named Regional MVP for his efforts.

Female Athletes of the Week

Tamara Miler Sport: Swimming & Diving College: Monroe Community College Hometown: Prevalje, Slovenia Tamara earned MVP honors at this weekend’s Region III/Northeast District Championships winning earning three individual championships and four more relay team championships. Miler won the 500 Yard Freestyle, 400 Yard Individual Medley, and the 200 Yard Backstroke. She set a new meet mark in the 200 Yard Backstroke finishing in a time of 2:12.64.

Emily Notebaert Sport: Bowling College: Corning Community College Hometown: Rochester, NY Emily captured the All Events Championship this weekend at the Region III Championship leading her team to a Regional Runner-up finish. Notebaert finished the runner-up in Singles competition and captured the Doubles Championship with teammate Victoria Maracle.
