Male Athletes of the Week

Samuel Naiwo Sport: Soccer College: SUNY Adirondack Hometown: London, England Sophomore Samuel Naiwo has scored a goal in each of the Timberwolves first three matches to start the 2013 season. In the opener against #5 nationally ranked Genesee CC he scored the game-tying goal early in the 2nd half en route to a 2-1 Timberwolves victory. Naiwo followed that performance with a goal and an assist on the road against #4 nationally ranked Bunker Hill CC. Naiwo then capped off the week with a goal and an assist in a road victory over Holyoke CC.

Pete McAvoy Sport: Soccer College: Herkimer County Community College Hometown: Dundee, Scotland Pete scored two goals on Saturday in Herkimer's 3-1 win against the CC of Morris. He also had the game winner in Sunday's 1-0 win over Brookdale CC. Pete is also responsible for only allowing one goal in both games as he is a central back. Both games were part of the Coliseum Soccer Club Classic hosted by Herkimer.

Female Athlete of the Week

Delaney Laper Sport: Volleyball College: Niagara County Community College Hometown: North Tonawanda, NY Opening the season at NJCAA D2 Nassau Community College Invitational, Delaney helped NCCC complete the weekend 3-0 with wins over Nassau CC, Genesee, CC and Onondaga CC. Laper led the Thunderwolves in most statistical categories, with 27 kills, 34 Digs and 21 aces in 11 games played.
