Male Athletes of the Week

 

Jake Baisley

Sport:  Cross Country

College:  Herkimer College

Hometown:  Dolgeville, NY

Jake finished in seventh place at the Bruce Bridgeman Invitation at Finger Lakes this weekedn with an overall time of 30:20, a pace time of 6:02. He was first junior college finisher at the meet.

 

 

 

 

 

Ryan Price

Sport:  Soccer

College:  Genesee Community College

Hometown:  Coventry, England

Ryan led the Cougars to a 2-0 record last week with 4 goals and 3 assists in a pair of shutout road wins. On Wednesday, Ryan collected one goal and three assists against Corning.  He followed that performance with three goals in a 4-0 win at Tompkins-Cortland on Saturday. The sophomore currently ranks 13th in Region 3 scoring and is tied for 11th in goals and tied for 10th in assists.

 

 

 

Female Athletes of the Week

Lynn Cleversley

Sport:  Volleyball

College:  Erie Community College

Hometown:  West Seneca, NY

Cleversley had 111 assists and 43 digs in four matches this week for the Kats volleyball team as they finished the week undefeated.  The team has extended their opening season win streak to seven with a 3-0 record in Region 3 competition to start the season.

 

 

 

Miko Yamashita

Sport:  Soccer

College:  Genesee Community College

Hometown:  Tokyo, Japan

Miko led the Cougars to a 2-0 record last week with one goal and three assists in helping Genesee stay perfect with a 5-0 season record. Down 2-0 against Corning, Miko scored the first of three goals that proved to be the impetus behind her team’s impressive come-from-behind rally for a 3-2 win against the Red Barons. She followed that performance by assisting on every Cougar goal in a 3-0 win against Tompkins-Cortland. The trio of assists also helped propel her into the Region’s top-10 in that category.
