Region III - Division III Women's Basketball Tournament

The 2016-17 regular season campaign has come to an close with Region III post-season competition set for this week.  Opening round matchups are scheduled for Tuesday with the Final Four set for the weekend.  Tuesdays matchups will be hosted by the tournaments top four seeds.  The highest remaining seed after quarterfinal competition will serve host to those advancing to the tournament semifinals.

Mohawk Valley Community College enters as the tournaments top seed finishing the regular season at 19-2.  The Hawks will take on fellow Mountain Valley Conference foe North Country Community College in the opening round.  The Saints finishing the season at 12-8 including a pair of losses to MVCC.

Corning Community College was awarded the #4 seed with a record of 14-6; the Red Barons will take on Fulton-Montgomery Community College.  The Raiders were awarded the fifth seed after finishing the regular season at 15-5.

Onondaga Community College is the tournaments second seed after a 17-3 campaign.  The Lazers will play post to #7 Jefferson Community College (12-8).  The Cannoneers will visit travel to Syracuse to take on the higher seed in the teams' third matchup this season after splitting the two regular season matchups.

The fourth quarterfinal features #3 Finger Lakes CC from the Mid-State Athletic Conference and #6 SUNY Adirondack from the MVC.  Adirondack will return to Canandaigua to take on the Lakers for the second time this season.  FLCC won the teams' early season matchup in December.
