2017-18 Region III Female Athlete of the Year

College:   Jamestown Community College

Sports:   Volleyball

Class:   Sophomore

SallyAnne was a two time 1st team NJCAA All American, 1st Team Region III Player, Region III Player of the Year and WNYAC player of the year.  She was ranked 4th in the country in kills and 5th in kills per set. She led the Jayhawks to the NJCAA National Volleyball Championships.  SallyAnne was also named a 2018 SUNY Chancellors Athletic Award Recipient and is a NJCAA Academic All American.

Next year Ms. Rudney will attend SUNY Fredonia to continue her academic and athletic endeavors.

2017-18 Region III Male Athlete of the Year

PJ Delpha

College:   Onondaga Community College

Sports:   Lacrosse

Class:   Sophomore

PJ is a two-time NJCAA All-American, All Region and All Conference player.  He was the top defenseman for the past two national championship teams at Onondaga.  He was the national tournament MVP in both 2017 and 2018.  PJ excelled in the classroom as well as on the field.  He was name 3rd team NJCAA Academic All American, Academic All-Region and Academic All-Conference.

Mr. Delpha plans to continue his athletic and academic career with a lacrosse scholarship to Hobart College.

 

 

2017-18 Region III Athletic Director of the Year

Bob Lowden Headshot

Robert Lowden

College:   Finger Lakes Community College

Mr. Lowden has served as the NJCAA Region III Women Director for the past three years and has now moved into his new role as the Men’s Director.  In addition, he chairs the sport of Track and Field while also serving on the region’s Standards & Ethics Committee.  On the national level, Bob also chairs the Track and Field committee, serves on the softball, volleyball and basketball committees and is on the Executive Committee of the National Alliance of Two Year College Athletic Administrators.

Bob is cited by his peers for his commitment and dedication to both his institution and the region.  He is acknowledged for hosting numerous regional and national championship events in a first class manner.  Bob is known for developing programs to enhance his student athlete experience and administering his athletic programs with the highest level of integrity
