Male Athletes of the Week

Brandon Bullock

Sport:  Basketball

College:  Finger Lakse Community College

Hometown:  Kileen, TX

Brandon led the Lakers in both games in scoring with 25 and 24 point games. Bullock has now scored 20 or more points in a game six times this season. His 13 rebounds against Tompkins Cortland was one below his career-high and averaged 12.5 on the week. Bullock leads the Lakers with 9 double-doubles on the season.

 

 

 

 

 

Eli Jones

Sport:   Basketball

College:  Niagara County Community College

Hometown:  Fairport, NY

Eli Jones put together a solid night in a 70 - 56 Thunderwolves victory over Erie CC with 22 points 8 rebounds 2 steals.  Jones is averaging 21.3 points per game this season along with 6.9 rebounds per game.

 

 

 

 

Dominik Gabaj

Sport:  Ice Hockey

College:  Monroe Community College

Hometown:  Bratislava, Slovakia

Gabaj, a freshman forward, led the MCC hockey team to a 2-0-1 week and in the process became the program's all-time leader for points in a season. Gabaj had a goal and an assist in a 5-4 win over Syracuse Wednesday to give him 67 points on the year, breaking the old mark of 66 set by Aaron Hildreth in 2009-2010. He then added two goals in a 4-4 tie with Niagara Club Friday, and two goals and two assists in a 7-0 victory against Hudson Valley Saturday. Gabaj has 30 goals and 43 assists for a nation-leading 73 points this season.

 

Female Athletes of the Week

 

Jasmine Canady

Sport:  Basketball

College:  Jefferson Community College

Hometown:  Spring Lake, NC

Jasmine continued her stellar sophomore season averaging 31 points, 5 steals, and 4.5 rebounds per game in leading Jefferson to a 1-1 record over the past week with a win at Cayuga CC and a loss at Onondaga CC.  She continues to be ranked in the top 20 nationally in scoring, assists, and steals.

 

 

 

 

Ashley Armstrong

Sport:  Basketball

College:  Finger Lakes Community College

Hometown:  Rochester, NY

Armstrong continues strong scoring production for the Lakers. She averaged 19.7 points per game this past week that saw the Lakers go 2-1. She had a 24 point performance in a double overtime win over Tompkins Cortland on Thursday. She averaged 4.7 assists and 3.7 steals per game this past week as well.
