Male Athletes of the Week

Johnny Astrologo

Sport:  Lacrosse

College:  Genesee Community College

Hometown:  Mahopac, NY

Astrologo had a strong defensive week for the GCC men's lacrosse team, which went 1-1 in two games. Astrologo collected six ground balls and forced four turnovers in a win against Niagara County Community College and had four ground balls and caused three turnovers against no. 1 Onondaga Community College.

 

 

Warren Hill

Sport:   Lacrosse

College:  Onondaga Community College

Hometown:  Six Nations Reservation, Ontario

Warren held nationally ranked Genesee CC to 2 goals with 12 saves this week. He also signed a full scholarship to attend Syracuse University for next fall as he performs well on the field and in the classroom as he currently holds a 3.0 GPA.

 

 

Matt Miller

Sport:  Lacrosse

College:  Finger Lakes Community College

Hometown:  Geneva, NY

Matt helped lead the Lakers to a 3-0 record this past week. He scored 20 goals in the three games. Miller found the back of the net 6 times at Mohawk Valley CC. He then scored 7 goals in the games against Tompkins Cortland CC and Niagara CCC. Miller has scored 39 goals so far this season, which leads the NJCAA.

Female Athlete of the Week

Kaliegh Murray

Sport:  Lacrosse

College:  Genesee Community College

Hometown:  Syracuse, NY

Kaleigh helped the Cougars women's lacrosse team to a 2-0 start to the season last week. Murray scored a total of 12 goals in two games, scoring eight times in Genesee's season-opening win against Niagara County Community College and netting four goals in a win over Erie Community College.
