Brandon Henshaw Sport: Baseball College: Genesee Community College Hometown: Brockport, NY Henshaw helped the GCC baseball team to a doubleheader sweep in its only series last week. Henshaw batted .714 (5/7) and hit two home runs, one double, drove in seven runs and scored six. GCC swept Finger Lakes CC in two games and improved to 21-5 in Region III play.

Abshir Yerow Sport: Track & Field College: Onondaga Community College Hometown: Syracuse, NY Abshir received top honors over the weekend when he was awarded Track Athlete of the Meet after he raced to five top-two finishes, helping Onondaga win the 2017 Region III Championships with a team score of 316. Yerow finished first overall in the 5000m, 10,000m, and 3000m steeplechase, while he finished second in the 1500m and 4x400m. His times in the 10,000m (34:36.93), 5000m (16:21.58) and 3000m Steeplechase (10:47.80) gave the freshman three events to compete in next weekend at the NJCAA National Championships.

D'Arcy Bittner Sport: Softball College: Columbia-Greene Community College Hometown: Saugerties, NY In the last week of the season D’Arcy went 16-22 at the plate. On the mound she went 5-0 during to lead her team to a 6 game win streak and a spot in the Region III Championship Tournament. She finished the regular season with a .548 batting average.
