Male Athletes of the Week

Ladji Fofana

Sport:  Basketball

College:  Genesee Community College

Hometown:  Bronx, NY

Ladji led the GCC men's basketball team to a pair of Western New York Athletic Conference (WNYAC) wins last week, finishing as the high scorer in both contests for the Cougars. Fofana scored 35 points, grabbed nine rebounds and dished out six assists in a win over Monroe CC and followed with 21 points, four rebounds and three assists in a win against Jamestown CC. In total, Fofana went a combined 25-28 from the free-throw line last week.

 

 

 

Jonathan Range

Sport:  Basketball

College:  Finger Lakes Community College

Hometown:  Atlanta, GA

Range posted a pair of double-doubles this week leading the Lakers to a 1-1 record.  On Wednesday Jonathan finished with 25 points and 11 rebounds in the Lakers 89-87 overtime loss to the Onondaga CC. He followed up Wednesday's performance with 21 points and 10 rebounds in an 82-62 victory over Tompkins Cortland CC on Saturday.

 

 

Female Athletes of the Week

 

Cheyenne Clark

Sport:  Basketball

College:  Mohawk Valley Community College

Hometown:  Deptford, NJ

Cheyenne averaged 19 points and 22 rebounds leading the Hawks to a trio of victories this week with wins over then nationally ranked #4 Onondaga CC, North Country CC, and Clinton CC.

 

 

 

 

 

Lanay Rodney

Sport:  Basketball

College:  Monroe Community College

Hometown:  Peekskill, NY

Rodney averaged 22.3 points, 10.3 points, 4.6 assists, and 4.3 steals per game as the Lady Tribunes went 3-0 last week. She scored a career-high 34 points in a 117-56 win over Genesee CC on Wednesday, and followed that with 15 points and nine rebounds in a victory against Lackawanna College on Thursday. Rodney finished the week in style, registering a triple-double (18 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists) in a win over Erie CC on Saturday.
