Male Athletes of the Week

 

 

 

Antione Didier

Sport:  Basketball

College:  Genesee Community College

Hometown:  Brooklyn, NY

Didier helped GCC extend their winning streak to 6 games and overall record to 8-1 wins with this week against Villa Maria College (88-81), Community College of Rhode Island (97-75), and ASA College (85-77).  Antoine averaged 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 steals per game. He started  the week against Villa Maria College scoring 10 points and had 7 rebounds.  He grabbed a game high of 13 rebounds in the 97-75 win against CCRI and had 17 points and 7 rebounds against ASA in the Cougar Holiday Classic Tournament as he was also named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.

 

 

 

Kameron DiSanto

Sport:  Basketball

College:  Onondaga Community College

Hometown:  Clyde, NY

Kameron helped lead the Lazers to a pair of victories last week with wins over Hudson Valley CC and Herkimer College averaging 21.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.  His breakout game came in Saturday’s win over Herkimer when he scored 28 points hitting seven of his nine three point field goal attempts.

 

 

 

Cody McGregor

Sport:  Wrestling

College:  Niagara County Community College

Hometown:  Tonawanda, NY

McGregor went 4-0 this past week for the Thunderwolves. The 149-pounder went up a weight class to win at the Alfred State Duals. The freshman then earned three victories via pinfall at the Springfield Tech Duals.

 

 

Female Athletes of the Week

Albanellys Perez

Sport:  Basketball

College:  Niagara County Community College

Hometown:  Medina, NY

Perez earned MVP honors at this past weekend's Cougar Classic hosted by Genesee CC. In a 78-70 win over CCRI, Perez notched 19 points and 20 rebounds. The sophomore forward followed that up with 22 points and 11 boards in an 80-62 victory over Durham (Ont.) College. Perez is currently averaging 13.1 rebounds per contest, which is fifth best in NJCAA Div. II.

 

 

 

 

 

Clarissa Walker

Sport:  Basketball

College:  Genesee Community College

Hometown:  Rochester, NY

Clarissa had a double-double in every game this past week, including a career high 30 points and 14 rebounds against Durham College.  The team also played CCRI in the Cougar Holiday Classic Tournament where she scored 15 points with 11 rebounds.  Earlier in the week against Villa Maria Walker scored 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
