Male Athletes of the Week

Nicholas Herrlett

Sport:  Swimming & Diving

College:  Herkimer College

Hometown:  Gloversville, NY

Herrlett captured his third first place finish in three meets for the Generals swimming and diving program on Saturday, breaking school records in consecutive weeks in one-meter dive. The freshman accumulated 273.37 in six attempts during the programs only home meet of the season.

 

 

 

Trevane Jones

Sport:  Basketball

College:  Jefferson Community College

Hometown:  Hartford, CT

Trevane helped lead the Cannoneers to a 3-0 record last week posting double-doubles in all three contests. In wins over Mohawk Valley CC, Schenectady CCC, and Fulton-Montgomery CC Jones average 23.7 ppg and 14.0 rebounds per game.

 

 

 

Will Korczynski

Sport:  Hockey

College:  Erie Community College

Hometown:  West Seneca, NY

Will earned back-to-back shutouts with 50 saves for defending NJCAA hockey champion Erie last weekend against Hudson Valley CC to extend the Kats’ win streak to 4 games. The Kats relied more on Will Saturday, when they entered the 3rd period with just a one-goal lead but the sophomore net minder turned aside 28 shots on the day and continued a string of over 143 minutes of shutout hockey.

 

 

 

Jonathan Range

Sport:  Basketball

College:  Finger Lakes Community College

Hometown:  Atlanta, GA

Range helped the Lakers to 2 wins this past week. In a 92-81 win at Jamestown CC, Range finished with 19 points and 12 rebounds. He followed up with 27 points in a 77-55 win over Mohawk Valley CC. Finally, Range ended the week with 30 points and 10 rebounds in their 68-58 loss to Herkimer College.

 

 

Female Athletes of the Week

Miranda Dunton

Sport:  Swimming & Diving

College:  Genesee Community College

Hometown:  Middlesex, NY

Miranda swam to three first place finishes last week for the GCC women's swimming and diving team at the Herkimer College Invitational. Dunton paced the women's 200 yard free, winning by almost 23 seconds (2:15.90). She also won the 100 yard free by almost 10 seconds (1:02.98) and topped the 500 yard free with a finishing time of 6:04.04.

 

 

 

Corinne Richer

Sport:  Swimming & Diving

College:  Herkimer College

Hometown:  Clinton, NY

Richer combined for three first place finishes this week for the Herkimer Generals Swimming & Diving program. The sophomore captured first place individually in the 1000 Yard. Freestyle (13:04.26), then combined with other teammates in the 200 Yard. Medley and Freestyle Relay, posting times of 2:20.14 and 2:04.17.
