Male Athletes of the Week

Noah Guitymoore

Sport:  Basketball

College:  North Country Community College

Hometown:  Boston, MA

Noah, helped lead the Saints to a 4-0 week averaging 19 points per game while shooting over 50% from three point range (11-20) in a pair of wins this weekend in wins over Corning CC and Finger Lakes CC.

 

 

 

Aaron Wanat

Sport:  Hockey

College:  Erie Community College

Hometown:  Cheektowaga, NY

Aaron combined for 9 points in a pair of weekend wins against Mohawk Valley CC.  In an 8-1 win Saturday, Aaron was in on 5 of his team’s 8 goals with a pair of power-play tallies, while adding 3 assists.  In a 9-2 win Sunday, Aaron added another goal to go with 3 more assists.  Of the 9 total weekend points by Aaron, 7 came on special-teams play that included an assist on a shorthanded goal.

 

 

 

Kyle Williams

Sport:  Basketball

College:  Niagara County Community College

Hometown:  Bronx, NY

Williams helped the Thunderwolves to three wins this past week. In a 75-72 win at Finger Lakes CC, Williams finished with a game-high six 3-pointers en route to 21 points and seven rebounds. He followed that up with 16 points in a 74-55 win at Clark State CC. Finally, Williams canned five 3-pointers on his way to 21 points in a 96-81 win at Edison CC.

 

 

Female Athletes of the Week

Melissa Bakowski

Sport:  Basketball

College:  Onondaga Community College

Hometown:  Camillus, NY

In three wins this week Melissa posted three double-doubles.  She had 12 points and 10 rebounds against SUNY Adirondack; 17 points and 11 rebounds against Schenectady CCC; and finished with 19 points and 18 rebounds against previously unbeaten Fulton-Montgomery CC.

 

 

 

Albanellys Perez

Sport:  Basketball

College:  Niagara County Community College

Hometown:  Medina, NY

Perez helped the Thunderwolves to three wins this week. In just 18 minutes of action during an 81-40 win at Finger Lakes CC, Perez notched 10 points, nine rebounds and three steals. She then had 13 points and 12 boards in just 19 minutes of play during an 83-64 win at Clark State CC. Finally, Perez had 21 points, a career-high 25 rebounds and five steals while playing all 40 minutes in an 80-69 win at Edison CC. Perez currently leads all NJCAA Div. II rebounders with 103 total boards.
