Male Athletes of the Week

Sean Lattimore

Sport:  Lacrosse

College:  Onondaga Community College

Hometown:  Auburn, NY

Sean combined to post 11 goals and four assists last week for a total of 15 points, after tallying 12 points this season prior to this week. The freshman attackman erupted for 11 points last Wednesday including a career-high 10 goals in Onondaga’s 25-0 shutout over Jefferson CC. Lattimore’s 10 goals were the most for the Lazers this season and ranks among one of the best single-game performances in program history. Lattimore followed up his career-high performance with four more points on Saturday when Onondaga earned its second consecutive win in conference play and 95th straight win overall with a 27-2 tilt at Tompkins Cortland CC

 

Brian Thielman

Sport:  Lacrosse

College:  Genesee Community College

Hometown:  Buffalo, NY

Thielman helped the GCC men's lacrosse team to a 2-0 week last week, recording back-to-back shutouts in net for the Cougars. Thielman made three saves in a 22-0 win over Niagara County CC and had five saves in a 32-0 win against Mohawk Valley CC. He is now 2-1 in net this season.

Female Athletes of the Week

Hannah Mochrie

Sport:  Softball

College:  Hudson Valley Community College

Hometown:  Troy, NY

Mochrie hit a pair of three run homeruns to lead the way for the Vikings as they battled to earn a pair of victories over Division II Monroe College with an 11-3 win in game 1 and an 8-6 victory in game two.  She finished the day 3 for 6 at the plate with 6 RBI.

 

Michelle Schwartz

Sport:  Lacrosse

College:  Monroe Community College

Hometown:  Corning, NY

Schwartz totaled 27 points in leading the top-ranked MCC women's lacrosse team to a perfect 4-0 week. The sophomore had two goals and four assists against Suffolk on Monday, and followed that with four goals and four assists at Nassau on Tuesday. She then added four goals and three assists versus Genesee on Wednesday. Michelle finished the week with four goals and two helpers in a win over Jefferson on Saturday.
