Male Athletes of the Week

Malik Fogg

Sport:  Baseball

College:  Tompkins Cortland Community College

Hometown:  Mount Vernon, NY

In seven games to open the season, Malik hit .667 (14-of-21) with five home runs, a triple, and two doubles for a slugging percentage of 1.571. He has 18 RBI to lead the Panthers as the team is off to a 6-1 start.

 

Austin Loefell

Sport:  Lacrosse

College:  Herkimer College

Hometown:  Red Hook, NY

Loefell had 37 saves as the Generals started the season 2-0 with wins over Dean College and SUNY Broome CC. Austin set a career high with 21 saves in the team’s 10-9 victory over Dean.

Cyrus Spruce

Sport:  Lacrosse

College:  Genesee Community College

Hometown:  Salamanca, NY

Cyrus recorded 14 points in two games last week for the GCC men's lacrosse team, helping the Cougars to a 2-0 week. Spruce scored seven goals and had two assists in a win over No. 9 Monroe CC and had three goals and two assists in a win against No. 6 Howard CC. Spruce leads Genesee in goals (18) and points (24) and is tied for 3rd in the country in goals and 5th in total points.

Female Athletes of the Week

Cassidy Bosch

Sport:  Softball

College:  Finger Lakes Community College

Hometown:  Livonia, NY

Bosch leads the Lakers in hits (9) and RBIs (7) after their first week of competition this season. She batted .360 at the plate, including a pair of triples, this past week.

 

Sarah Bregg

Sport:  Softball

College:  Onondaga Community College

Hometown:  Phoenix, NY

Sarah played a pivotal role in the Lazers’ four wins at the Snowbird Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Bregg was 14-for-30 (.467) with two homeruns, two triples and a pair of doubles that produced 12 RBI as the Lazers went 4-4 overall against some of the nation’s top-ranked teams. She went 3-for-4 from the dish against both the College of Southern Maryland and Finger Lakes and produced two or more runs batted in four times in the Lazers’ eight-game schedule. The sophomore outfielder created problems on the base paths as well after stealing six bags in six attempts.
