Male Athletes of the Week

Barrett Celecki

Sport:  Cross Country

College:  Mohawk Valley Community College

Hometown:  Holland Patent, NY

Celecki won the Mountain Valley Conference Championship race with a time of 20:58. In the process Barrett led the Hawks to a first place team finish and a Conference championship.  His time on the 4 mile race set a course record.

 

 

Chris Davison

Sport:   Soccer

College:  Cayuga Community College

Hometown:  New Castle, England

Chris has scored 9 goals in three games, including 3 consecutive hat-tricks in three wins over Corning, TC3 and finishing his 3 in a row, with a win over SUNY Adirondack. The scoring run brings his total to 11 goals in 4 games, with 20 goals scored for the season, totaling 48 points which includes his 8 assists.

 

 

Female Athletes of the Week

Kiesha Cook

Sport:  Volleyball

College:  Hudson Valley Community College

Hometown:  Akwasasne, NY

Hudson Valley had one of the most successful weeks in recent volleyball history in large part to Cook. Kiesha led the way with 21 kills, 63 digs, seven service aces and a block in wins again Herkimer and Mohawk Valley as well as two tough losses to SUNY Delhi and Fulton-Montgomery . Kiesha was 48 of 51 serving and in 63 hitting attempts had only five errors to her 21 kills. She was targeted on serve 68 times with a passer rating of 2.5. She finished with 63 digs to only nine digging errors as well.

 

Haley Dumbleton

Sport:  Volleyball

College:  Niagara County Community College

Hometown:  Warsaw, NY

Sophomore outside hitter Haley Dumbleton helped the Thunderwolves to three important Region III victories at the Jefferson CC pod this past weekend. She averaged over five points per set on her way to surpassing the 500-kill and dig marks for her career. She is just the third player in school history to achieve that milestone.
